Create and manage Locations

The following article outlines how to create, edit and delete a Location within the Reporting Tool.

Create a Location

To create a New Location, follow these steps:

  1. Click on + Add Location at the bottom of the Location Library.
  2. A Settings panel will open, and you’ll be able to configure the relevant fields of your Location.
  3. Add a name for your Location.
  4. Start typing out the address of your Location.
  5. As you type a dropdown menu will assist by providing Location options. Select an option.
  6. Once an address is selected, all the other fields will auto-populate. The map on the right will also auto-update.
  7. Next, select the relevant Timezone.
  8. Add any Location Comments.
  9. Finally, click the Save button in the bottom right-hand corner.
  10. Your Location will now be added to the Location Library.

When creating a Location, Timezones are not automatically entered and will need to be manually selected. For New Zealand, the Timezone is Pacific/Auckland.

 

Edit a Location

To edit a Location, follow these steps:

  1. Click on a Location to open the Settings panel.
  2. Next, rename your Location, update the address, change Timezones or add any comments.
  3. Click the Save button.
  4. Your Location will now be updated in the Location Library.

To make changing a Location as simple as possible, alter the top address line first and select from the dropdown menu, allowing the Reporting Tool to auto-populate the rest of the address fields.

 

Delete a Location

To delete a Location, follow these steps:

  1. Click on a Location to open the Settings panel.
  2. Click the Delete button at the bottom left-hand side of the Settings panel.
  3. A pop-up modal will appear.
  4. To confirm, click the Delete button or to cancel, click the Cancel button.
  5. Your Location will now be removed from the Location Library.

If your Location has Devices assigned to it, the Location will not be removed from the Location Library.

 

View Devices at a specific Location

To view all Devices at a Location, follow these steps:

  1. Click on a Location to open the Settings panel.
  2. Next, click the Devices at this Location button at the bottom right-hand side of the Settings Panel.
  3. Clicking on the button will open the Device List and display the Devices at the selected Location.
