Media Item usage

The following article outlines how to view Media Item usage and how to remove and replace Media Items from a Playlist.

View Media Items usage

When viewing Media Items settings, the final section displays a list of every Playlist that uses the Media Items selected.

In the Usage panel, you can Replace and Remove the Media Items from one or more Playlists in the CMS.

For example, there is an advertisement that needs updating and could be replaced.

In the Usage panel, you can easily Select and Relace the Media Item in all the Playlists it is in.

 

Replace a Media Item

To replace a Media Item from within a playlist, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Media Library.
  2. Click on a Media Item to open the Setting panel.
  3. Scroll down to the Usage panel.
  4. Click the Replace Content button.
  5. Next, select one or more Playlists by clicking on the Checkboxes.
  6. Click the Replace button.
  7. A new panel will open where you can:
    1. Replace the Media Items from the Media Library.
    2. Add or change the Duration.
    3. Add or change the Embargo and Expiry date and time.
    4. Add or change the Location.
    5. Add or change Tags.
  8. Once you’ve finished, click the Save button.
  9. Your Media Items will now be replaced in all the selected Playlists.

 

Remove a Media Item

To remove a Media Item from a Playlist, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Media Library.
  2. Click on a Media Item to open the Setting panel.
  3. Scroll down to the Usage panel.
  4. Click the Replace Content button.
  5. Next, select one or more Playlists by clicking on the Checkboxes.
  6. Click the Remove button.
  7. A modal will pop up asking if you’re sure you want to delete the message.
  8. To confirm the removal, click the Remove button.
  9. Your Media Items will now be removed from all the selected Playlists.
