Configure Media Item Settings

The following article outlines how to configure Media Item Settings, read File Information and use Impression Reporting.

View Media Item Settings

When clicking on a Media Item from the Media Library, a new panel will open and will display a range of sections such as Settings, File Information, Impression Reporting and Media Usage.

Configure Media Item Settings

To configure Media Item Settings, follow these steps:

  1. Click on a Media Item from the Media Library. 
  2. From here, you can:
    1. Rename your Media Item.
    2. Add a click-through Link (This is only relevant to interactive media player implementations such as Kiosks and WiFi Captive Portals).
    3. Add any Default Tags. To learn more about default tags, go to Configuring Tags.
    4. Add any Comments.
  3. Once you've finished configuring your Media Item, click the Save button.

If you add a Default Tag to your Media Item that is already within a Playlist, then the Default Tag will not be pulled through to a Playlist entry. You'll have to replace your Media Item within that Playlist.

File Information

The File Information panel displays details about the file size, resolution and file type.

If playback is not smooth it may be worth checking that the file size is not abnormally large for that specific Media Item. 

The resolution information can be used to verify that the content matches the type of Template you are using it on.

 

Impression Reporting

Underneath the File Information is the Impression Reporting panel. An Impression is a single time Media has played on a Screen. If the selected content has only recently been uploaded, this section will initially be empty as playback statistics need to be gathered first.

Once the Media Item has been scheduled to play, the Impression Information will build over time. 

 

Update the Time Range

To update the Time Range, follow these steps:

  1. Select a Start and End date & time to query.
  2. The bar graph will dynamically display hours, days, months or years based on the range selected.

If the Media Item has been set to play on multiple Screens, each Screen will appear as a different colour on the bars. Hover over any section to view detailed information relating to playback within that time period:

Total impressions The total amount of times the content has played.
Seconds total The total amount of seconds the content has played for.
Share of voice The total percentage of the time this content has played for in relation to other media set to play on the screen.

Download a .CSV

To download a .csv file, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Export button at the bottom right-hand corner of the Impression Reporting panel.
  2. A .csv file will download to your computer's file browser with all of the impression information for the selected time period.
